Viral sensation, gay icon and fashion trendsetter, Tika the Iggy, has launched her very own closet on Poshmark, selling her previously loved items, including leashes, onesies and sweaters, nationwide for dog owners to snatch up for their own fur babies.
Last December, Montreal-based Tika the Iggy (an Italian greyhound) whose video about all the outfits she didn’t get to wear over the course of the pandemic, went viral and caused paw-demonium.
From her home in the southwest borough of Ville-Émard where she so glamorously resides with Thomas Shapiro and his husband, Tika does photoshoots, interviews, and chats about sustainability – she loves creating her own garments. No fast fashion here!
Shout-outs from celebrities like Lizzo, Diane Keaton, and Jennifer Aniston, and a video recreation by Sofia Vergara, have kept this four-legged imp beloved in popular culture.
2021 has been an exciting one for her. Now signed with an agent and curating her own merchandising line, Tika was recently immortalized in Vogue – the legendary fashion magazine showed readers how to recreate human versions of Tika’s now-iconic outfits. Incredible.
The 40+ item closet launched on Monday, June 28th and is only available to Canadians-only nationwide. All proceeds of the sale will go to Rainbow Railroad, a Canadian not-for-profit organization that helps LGTBQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics.
