Stepping into Jungle Room is like entering a tropical haven, and Head Chef Krisyanto, Pastry Chef Mariko Foster, and Consulting Chef Alessandro Vianello have crafted a menu that mirrors this lush experience. Drawing inspiration from Chef Krisyanto’s Indonesian heritage and Chef Foster’s Japanese roots, the new fall menu features a tantalizing array of plant-based dishes that showcase the culinary diversity of these rich cultures.
Savour the Flavours: Plant-Powered Delights
Miso-braised Squash: This star dish, featuring charred shallot, roasted hakurei turnips & sautéed greens, wasabi chimichurri, and a curried squash purée, is a must-have, perfectly encapsulating the taste of the fall season.
Charred Broccolini: What seems like a simple dish with broccolini as the main event, the Sambal oelek and kecap manis, add a flavour-packed punch which makes this an ideal side dish for the delicious miso-braised squash.
Wild Mushroom Bubur: Dive into the heart of Indonesian cuisine with this congee featuring wild mushrooms, walnuts, burnt scallion oil, kecap manis, and crispy yam.
Agedashi Tofu Salad: Made with beet carpaccio, goma dressing, shaved fennel, toasted sesame seeds, shiso, pickled chilli, and lotus, this light and refreshing salad makes for a perfect starter along with their signature Jungle Fries.
Jungle Fries: Double-cooked house fries, chives, lemon pepper, togarashi, and red pepper dip.
Happy Hour Delights and Brunch
Indulge The Jungle Room’s culinary delights and unique cocktail (or mocktail) offerings such as La Dama Verde and San Cristóbal, with a daily Happy Hour from 3pm – 6pm and a Late Night Happy Hour from 10:30pm until last call.
The team at JR team is also putting the finishing touches on an enticing new standalone vegan brunch menu, promising delightful plant-based options available on weekends from 11am to 3pm.
Immersive Cocktails and Conservation Commitment
Jungle Room’s commitment to innovation extends to its beverage offerings. General Manager Shawn Jones and Bar Manager Emily Vey have curated an extensive selection of vegan wines and cocktails. As a part of its dedication to conservation, Jungle Room will contribute a portion of proceeds from cocktail sales to Pacific Wild, supporting the preservation of British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest.
