Vancouver’s ‘Luxury Zone’ welcomed many new boutiques this fall and with the launch of Chopard, one has to wonder, how much more luxury can the city handle? That question is, of course, rhetorical!
The street was lined with feline hypercars from Miles End Motors and lithe elegant models from Richards Models were bedecked in the latest from Greta Constantine generously supplied by Gastown’s Wardrobe Apparel, not to mention draped in Chopard gems.
The Chopard Maison is synonymous with red carpet glamour and renowned for its exceptional timepieces. When they decided to open its largest free-standing boutique in Canada in Vancouver’s ‘Luxury Zone’ on Alberni Street, the team knew a grand event was in order and appointed Countdown Events to handle the evening.
This is the first boutique in Western Canada for the independent, family-owned Swiss jewelry and timepiece House which, over the past 157 years, has become celebrated for its modern designs, exceptional craftsmanship, and commitment to sustainable luxury.
“Canada is a continually expanding marketplace for luxury, with Vancouver becoming a major shopping destination,” says Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Creative Director of Chopard. “This is why Chopard is excited to strengthen our brand presence by opening our first boutique on the West Coast of Canada. We look forward to welcoming friends of the Maison from around the globe into the stunning universe of Chopard at our new home in Vancouver Downtown.”
The boutique is the perfect jewel box to showcase the Maison’s creative jewelry and timepiece collections. Ms. Scheufele has artfully created a space which reflects the warm and gracious atmosphere of her own living room replete with light wood floors and wall paneling, sumptuous fabrics, and furnishings.
You may remember that it was only mere months ago, the corner location was Global Watch Company. The new Chopard boutique is North America’s latest franchise in collaboration with Global Watch Company.
After immigrating to Vancouver in 2000, Sassan Pourfar, President of GWC, decided to embark on a career as a salesperson for luxury watch brands that eventually drove him to start his own business in 2014. In 2016, he opened Canada’s first and largest Rolex Boutique.
“The ability to forge partnerships has led to several prominent landlords in Vancouver’s luxury district offering us the opportunity to open Chopard Boutique on West Georgia,” says Mr. Pourfar. “I have always held the art of mechanics of Chopard in greatest esteem, as much enamoured by the perfection in design as by the timeless value represented by Chopard.”
In the boutique, unique High Jewelry creations play amongst the iconic Happy Diamonds, Imperiale, L’Heure du Diamant, Precious Chopard, and Ice Cube jewelry and timepiece collections which all showcase the Maison’s creativity, expert techniques and savoir-faire. The salon also features a large selection of beautiful handbags and accessories that emphasize audacious personal style.
In the men’s section, Haute Horlogerie mixes with the world of racing and classic automobiles through Chopard’s technically sophisticated L.U.C, Mille Miglia, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and Superfast collections. Each timepiece is developed with the same passion for excellence, drive for innovation, and expert craftsmanship that originally sparked watchmaker Louis-Ulysse Chopard to establish the Chopard brand in 1860.
The new boutique located in the heart of Vancouver on West Georgia and is officially open for business.
