Sunday, January 21st was a very special day for brides-to-be in Vancouver. The FLEUR luxury wedding show and forum blossomed under a replica Eiffel Tower in the 4th floor ballroom of the Douglas Autograph Hotel at Parq Vancouver.
FLEUR was the city’s first wedding show to bring together elite industry professionals and celebrity influencers, all who were offering brides-to-be and attendees hands-on workshops, a panel discussion, and a lavish BLUSH Bridal fashion presentation.
Produced by Aly Armstrong Event Planning & Design and featuring host spokesperson and all-around sweetheart Erin Cebula, guests were treated to luxury displays from the cities top florists and culinary wizards to Rolls Royce rentals and unique photobooth opportunities. The flower walls were gorgeous and set-up by Flowerwall Vancouver and many other talented creatives.
Former Bachelorette and social media star Kaitlyn Bristowe and lifestyle blogger Monika Hibbs joined industry experts on the panel stage in the early afternoon for a lively dialogue on tips and advice for new brides. Additionally, Denis Grocer and The Collective You photography held a private photo experience for a select number of brides, Maurelle Calligraphy and watercolourist Love by Pheobe each held two hands-on classes.
FLEUR showcased room after room of incredible inspiration from international wedding trends. Each room reflecting a new theme with an accompanying culinary experience – all catered by the JW Marriott. As we moved through each there were attendants with fresh cocktails and wine, delicious displays of desserts, and savoury concoctions.
Next up was the vendor-filled ballroom which was wall-to-wall with some of my favourite businesses – representing health and wellness (Barre Fitness, GLOW Dermal Therapy), styling (Nadia Albano, Veronica Gomes Hair), vintage transportation (Ultimate Limousine), and the all important decor rentals (Upright Decor, Bold Event Creative), all surrounding a chic Parisian stage and runway.
Jason Sarai of Style by Sarai hosted a Gentlemen’s Lounge in the Douglas’ multi-level penthouse with patio. Joined by Kingsley Eyewear and Cappelleria Bertacchi, the space was laden with Italian fabric samples, hats, mannequin displays, and many well-dressed gent’s offering tailoring tips and scotch tasting. While the lounge was laidback, the Remy Martin punch had quite the kick!
Before heading out the door, I visited the Gifting Centre and picked a $50 Gift Certificate from Regal Grooming, from the vast selection, to give my partner an afternoon of pampering. (Sorry TWG Tea!)
