Love adventure? Whether that be hiking a new trail, trying an extreme sport, taking a chance on a new restaurant in the city, adventure is easy to find in BC. Love road tripping but lack the time for a cross-country expedition? Guess Where Trips offers curated and customizable surprise road trip guides so you can experience an impromptu excursion around some of Canada’s major cities.
Jessica Off, Guess Where Trips founder, started her business unexpectedly. The idea came from when she gifted her parents an overnight trip to Prince Edward Country through surprise envelopes. The simple yet thoughtful idea sparked what is now Guess Where Trips. Her passion behind is to create experiences that inspire people and push them to explore what is right in their own backyard!
In Vancouver, there are two great packages available for those seeking to explore. We decided to go along with the Flora, Fauna & Farms trip. This trip is to be enjoyed with the entire family or with friends in a minimum of 6-hours including a driving duration of a little over two hours from downtown. The trip is also vegan and wheelchair accessible, with plenty of Instagrammable locations to take photos. Participants will find hidden gems, like wineries, countryside spots, historic farms, and funky eateries. All you will need for this trip is a camera, walking shoes, water, and snacks for the road!
Here is a sneak peek of our Guess Where Trip adventure!
Stop 1: Verandah Cafe
Stop by the Verandah Cafe for a quick coffee or a sit-down breakfast at this adorable cafe with an ocean view in the distance. The decor is sure to make you feel like you are out for high tea but offers an affordably priced menu and quick goodies on the go.
Stop 2: Historic Stewart Farm
Take a trip back in time inside the once-home of the Stewart Family. The self-led tour takes you through the 1894 Historic Stewart Farm house and now a museum which makes for an incredible photo op. The team of friendly and dedicated hosts loves answering any questions you may have about the home and its heritage artifacts.
Stop 3A: Barnside Brewing Co
Time for lunch! Find plenty of delicious drinks and eats at Barnside Brewing Co. Make sure you budget a little extra time for larger groups visiting on weekends. If you are not much of a beer drinker, we recommend you try the Hai Tea.
Stop 3B: Boca Grande
This Latin-themed donut shop is one you will not regret. Offering plenty of vegan donuts, Boca Grande is a stop you will not want to miss for road trip sweet treats.
Stop 4A: Country Vines Winery
Sit in for a wine tasting on the Country Vines Winery‘s cozy patio, or explore the beautiful grounds and take one of their local wines to go.
Stop 4B: Sunflower Festival
OPENING SOON! The Richmond Sunflower Festival features a beautiful walk through an impressive and gorgeous sunflower field. This specific festival runs from July-September, but worry not, there are other seasonal festivals that make great stops at other times of the year.
Note: This Guess Where Trip includes a stop at the Urban Safari Rescue Society that has rescue animals and is a facility that takes in abandoned animals and reptiles, but unfortunately, it does also offer the animals in their care to be used for paid entertainment purposes in and outside their facility which goes against our publisher mandate to not promote for-profit animal exploitation within in our content.
