Toques From The Heart: Knitwear with a Purpose

In 2019, McMaster University saw the beginnings of a unique initiative from graduates Matthew Milne and Matt Carter. Since then, that small idea has blossomed into the heartwarming venture known as Toques From The Heart. Born out of a desire to positively impact their community, TFTH has become a beacon of warmth and generosity, providing stylish cold-weather accessories to those in need.

A Mission to Give Back

The core mission of Toques From The Heart is simple yet profoundly impactful: for every item purchased, the organization commits to gifting a warm item to a Canadian experiencing homelessness. What these two graduates started as a humble initiative has now become a movement that spreads warmth and compassion throughout Canada.

Empowering Communities

Since its inception, TFTH has forged partnerships with over 75 non-profit and charity organizations nationwide, including The Salvation Army, Hockey Helps the Homeless, Youth Haven, Indwell, and more. Their dedication to giving back has resulted in the donation of thousands of toques to Canadians facing homelessness.

Sustainable Toques

Toques From The Heart has gone beyond warmth this season with its new sustainable toques. These toques are crafted with 100% recycled materials from the Recover® system. This system actively gathers and diverts textile waste from landfills worldwide, creating a thicker, warmer, and more comfortable toque. The distinctive geo-knit design adds a touch of style to each piece. At the end of their life cycle, these toques can be returned to the system, creating a circular production loop that minimizes waste and maximizes positive impact.

Doubling the Impact this Black Friday

As the season of giving approaches, TFTH is gearing up for a special Black Friday promotion that promises to double the impact of their initiative. From Friday, November 24, to Tuesday, November 28, for every item purchased, they will donate not one but two warm items to Canadians in need.
