Caring Goes a Long Way

The Montreal-based woman-led company was founded by Corinne Ohayon in 2009, after visiting her hairstylist sister in Florida. Unsurprisingly, during this vacation, Corinne’s hair gave out to the infamous Sunshine State humidity. The result was frizzy and unmanageable hair. She needed a hair fix quickly and this is when she learned about keratin smoothing treatments. When Corinne returned home to Montreal, she found it hard to find a salon that knew what the treatment was. Soon after, she flew to Brazil to get trained and learn the ins and outs of the keratin industry.

Corinne saw this as an opportunity to create a safer alternative. After connecting with a very talented chemist in Brazil, she created the product and over the last five years, has worked on improving the formulation, its ingredients, the techniques to apply it as well as maintaining it as a customizable product. Since then, the Keratinworks family has grown significantly, with hairstylists all over North America using her treatment on their clients.
